USC Child Interviewing Seminar

Dr. Lyon teaches a Child Interviewing Seminar offered to law students, undergraduates, and practitioners at the USC Gould School of Law. This is a 13-week course held every Friday 10am – 12pm in the Spring and Fall semesters. If you are a practitioner in LA and are interested in sitting in on the class, please email Childinterviewinglab@law.usc.edu and we can give you more information. We welcome practitioners of any child interviewing experience.

Biweekly Case Review

In Dr. Lyon’s peer-review webcast, we’ll webcast and review an anonymized forensic interview conducted by us or other interview groups. The livestreams typically take place every other Friday at 11:00 am PST and end at 12:00 pm PST—we’ll send you a password protected link that you can watch live, or that you can watch archived at a later time. We welcome practitioners of any child interviewing experience! Please email Childinterviewinglab@law.usc.edu if you are interested in receiving links for the bi-weekly review webcast, and we’ll add you to our email list. If you attend the entire webinar, we can provide you with a certificate of attendance, and this will count toward the CEU requirements for forensic interviewers under the NCA’s Forensic Interviewing Standard.

Forensic Interviews

When requested by LA county dependency courts, we conduct forensic interviews with alleged child victims of sexual abuse. We follow the Ten Step Investigative Interview protocol. To schedule a forensic interview with us, call us at (213) 973-3909 or email us at ChildInterviewingLab@law.usc.edu
